Participate along with your students in the most Hi-Tech Panhellenic student competition. «Hack» touring maps, get to know imaginary worlds, and claim prize money and equipment for your school.

Groups of students from state and private schools are invited to choose one or more cartographic exhibits, and to connect them with historical events, myths, or imaginary stories. They will draw their inspiration from touring maps and imaginary illustrations of Greece (cities, seas and broader regions) from the 16th to 20th century, which are part of the collections of the Onassis Foundation, General Archives of the State, Cartographic Heritage Archives / Historical Archives of Macedonia, as well as of other foundations, museums, and libraries.

New technologies, riddles, and symbols come together in a multimedia competition, drawing its inspiration from incredible accounts written by foreign travelers. Groups of students are invited to create a digital game, a digital story, or virtual and/or augmented reality applications.

"HACK THE MAP: IMAGINARY WORLDS" COMPETITION – PHASE TWO DEADLINE EXTENDED UNTIL WEDNESDAY 25.05.2022

We would like to announce that – following requests made teachers heading the student teams – the Phase Two deadline for the submission of digital works to the "Hack the Map: Imaginary Worlds" competition has been extended to Wednesday, May 25, in order to give all teams more time to develop and complete their projects.

In light of this, the competition schedule now stands as follows:

→ 25.05.2022 – Phase Two deadline for the submission of digital works.

→ 10.06.2022 – Four best prize-winning digital works announced.
