Hospital visits can be a difficult challenge for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). New and unknown spaces, the touch of doctors and nursing staff are but a few aspects that often go unnoticed, but can cause acute stress to children, teenagers and adults with ASD. Even a simple check-up can become a source of anxiety.

This webinar aims to offer valuable information about the use of educational material and the creation of individualised social stories, practical advice and tips that will prepare individuals with ASD of any age to “go to the doctor” for heart tests. Learn how to help individuals with ASD and those escorting them to prepare effectively and systematically for their hospital visit, turning a stressful process into a positive experience.

Goal and methodology of the program
  • Familiarization with the manuals published by the scientific team of the educational program “IN THE HEART OF AUTISM.”
  • Training on the personalized use of the educational manual of social stories.
  • Monitoring/guidance over the participants’ case studies.
