Katingo Hadjipateras Giannoulis

Dr Katingo Hadjipateras Giannoulis holds a BA (Hons) in Psychology, a Master’s degree (MSc) in Clinical Psychology from the University of Surrey and a PhD in Psychology from the Royal Holloway and Bedford New Colleges, University of London.

She has over 30 years’ experience working as a clinical psychologist in hospitals and mental health centers in London and Athens. She has been an instructor at the American College of Greece (Deree) since 2011, at both the undergraduate and post-graduate Schools.

In her research and clinical endeavors, she has specialized in working with children, youngsters and adults with neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g. autism), as well as in family counselling and support. Between 1995-2008, she worked as a clinical psychologist in specialist autism multi-disciplinary centers of NHS hospitals in London (Guy’s & Maudsley). While maintaining her private practice in London, from 2011 onwards she has also established a private practice in Athens. In addition, she provides consultation and training services to educational establishments and schools as well as supervision services to psychologists and mental health practitioners.

She is a member of various professional associations in the UK and Greece, such as:

  • A Chartered Clinical Psychologist and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
  • Member of the Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology Divisions of the BPS.
  • Member of the Greek Scientific Network for Autism Spectrum Disorders.
  • Member of the British Association of Child Psychology and Child Psychiatry.

She has been the Scientific Consultant at ALMA, the Pan-Hellenic Association of Adapted Activities since 2015.

Her papers have been published in various scientific journals and she has been invited to speak at numerous conferences in Greece and internationally.
