It often happens that parents and professionals dealing with children learn themselves something new so that they can explain it to them afterwards. In the case of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), this is a norm, especially when it comes to a situation such as a pandemic.
Daily life during a pandemic is not restricted to a stay-at-home measure. Information, comprehension, dealing with a positive case within the family, testing, coronavirus symptoms, all these constitute a basic first step for adults and children toward coping with our new living conditions.
The Onassis Foundation, following its initiative “The World of Autism in the Midst of a Pandemic” and the respective digital material created and now available at onassis.org, organizes another webinar addressed to parents, teachers, and health professionals engaged with the education and health of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, selecting the key issues which can help families to better balance their daily lives through the changes the coronavirus pandemic has brought about.
If you want to get valuable information in order to explain to children with ASD how our life changes during this pandemic, join this new webinar, which will explore in a scientific but simple way the following issues:
- Critical epidemiological data concerning COVID-19.
- Parents and therapists’ awareness regarding COVID-19 symptoms, and differences from other viruses.
- A positive case within the family, and handling with it: What to do when someone is diagnosed with COVID-19?
- What testing options are available in our country, and which one is the most appropriate in any given condition? Pros and cons of each option.
