Dear teachers and health visitors, meet the “Orgamites”, created in order to guide, explain, answer questions, and share their knowledge about the human body and organ donation. For a world full of life-saving superheroes!

Healthcare and organ donation become part of the national curriculum in Greece. Through the “Orgamites”, the discussion about health, main body organs, transplantation, but also organ donation, opens in the hope that an increasing number of people will become organ donors or “life-saving superheroes”, as we call them.

Through simple stories and the characters of “Orgamites”, primary school children learn about their bodies as well as the ways in which organ donation can change the world.

What are the main organs of the human body? What is their function? How do we take care of them? And how can be replaced an organ, when this is not functioning properly? “Orgamites”, who have been designed especially for children, turn these difficult questions into simple stories. These characters can be found in the educational materials included in the actions and interventions of Primary Healthcare Programs of the Hellenic Ministry of Health for the school year 2021-2022 (Thematic Category 19).

The concepts of transplantation and organ donation become topics for discussion among children, their parents, and their teachers. Hope is born in primary school classrooms. More and more people can learn how to take care of their body, as well as about the importance of organ donation.
