"The Train", the new play by Lenos Christidis, tells the strange tale of six teenage heroes on a journey towards self-knowledge aboard a train heading no one knows where.

Growing up is an adventure as worrying as it is enigmatic, as passionate as it is hyper-real; it is a time of life when the mind wanders between dreams and reality.

And "The Train", the new play Lenos Christidis (Karolos Koun Award, 1999) wrote together with pupils from the 14th Senior High School in Peristeri, downtown Athens, is all of that. Including references to Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, Christidis tells the strange tale of six teenage heroes on a journey towards self-knowledge aboard a train heading no one knows where.

The work was commissioned by the Grasshopper theater company and the Onassis Stegi for its Youth Stage, which will be providing young theater-goers with their ‘own’ theater for the third year running—a theater which is attuned to their fears, concerns and dreams.
