Pictures; one disappears and another appears. Most of the time, he doesn’t understand the connection between a picture and the one next to it. He needs someone who knows him well to tell about it and set the picture in motion, so it’s not still anymore.

When memories in head are like still pictures with no scenes from the past, how the memory works?

The title of the idiosyncratic and moving “family” performance “Riding on a Cloud” is borrowed from a poetry collection by Yasser Mroue, Rabih’s brother. The two brothers share top billing in this performance in which Yasser comments on the events that redefined his existence and his dreams in his own way, reciting his poems, while Rabih demystifies a series of constructed narratives relating to the events of the war in order to call into question established perceptions and collective self-delusions.
