Special but not separate from others. Unique but not alone. Discover the art of “togetherness” and turn difference into an advantage as part of a team that includes youth with and without autism.

Art is the main field where difference can turn into creativity. It does not isolate unique people. Nor does it fear those who are special. Students with and without disabilities come together in a workshop about art and communication.

Voice, touch, color, movement, and contact: these will be the main tools in discovering your uniqueness and respecting the other’s difference. If you sing on someone’s body, if she or he paints you, if your back supports the back of another in order to dance or simply stretch in synchrony, will it matter how different you are? After all, you don’t need to be like someone in order to come close.
