The Charta of Rigas becomes the starting point of a fun game with riddles, deciphering, painting, and history. Through this program, you will discover the secrets of a map that was created for the 1821 Greek Revolution.
Rigas Velestinlis, who wrote the hymn “Thourios” and prepared the Greeks for the 1821 Greek Revolution, cleverly managed to hide his dream of an independent Greece in a map.
Prompted by the fact that the Onassis Library holds a copy of the Charta of Greece, students are invited to solve riddles and decipher the messages that Rigas wished to send to Greeks under Ottoman rule.
Get ready to travel through the map, following a route full of unknown stories about coins, ancient monuments, historical battles, mythical heroes, kings, and philosophers. Drawing inspiration on all these, create your own symbols, full of meaning.
Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
