Introduction

An imaginary encounter between the Indian elephant deity, Ganesh, and Adolf Hitler, performed by one of the world’s most special and idiosyncratic theater companies.

An imaginary encounter between the Indian elephant deity, Ganesh, and Adolf Hitler, performed by one of the world’s most special and idiosyncratic theater companies—since the members of Australia’s internationally-celebrated Back to Back Theatre are all professional actors with disabilities.

“Did you come here to see a freak show?”, they’ ll ask, provoking us into examining the purity of our motives, but also into pondering what it means to be excluded from the norms of a society obsessed with beauty and sameness.
