Meet a few of the thousands of residents who live in the City of Tomorrow for the past decade:

Ioannis Katsantonis – 2021 Scholar
He was honored with the 2023 Doctoral Student Rising Star Award from the Faculty of Education of the University of Cambridge. His research focuses on exploring human agency in academic achievement and discovering the underlying mechanisms through which students can become agents in their academic achievement and empowered in their learning.

Panagiotis Kyriakopoulos – 2019 Scholar
He is included in the Forbes Greece’s “30 under 30” list for 2022 for his research and contribution to highlighting the importance of Technology Parks in Greece and other countries worldwide. He was honored with a Study UK Alumni Award in 2022 in the Business and Innovation category by the British Council. For two consecutive years, he received the Excellence in Research award from the Adam Smith Business School of the University of Glasgow. His research focuses on Technology Parks, the internationalization of micro-multinational enterprises, global entrepreneurship, and global business strategy.

Leonidas Romanos Ntavranoglou – 2016 Scholar

He is a member of the team of researchers at Oxford University who discovered in November 2023, during a research trip in the jungles of Papua, that the rare mammal named Attenborough’s long-beaked echidna is not extinct.

Maria Rousou – 2018 Scholar

She was honored in 2023 by the National Horticultural Society of France for her thesis in the field of archaeobotany entitled “Evolution of the paleoenvironment and exploitation of plant resources in the Preceramic Neolithic of Cyprus.”

Eugenia Arsenis – 2004 Scholar

She was honored with the Study UK Alumni Award in 2023 in the Culture and Creativity category by the British Council.

Vasileios Dimakopoulos – 2021 Scholar
He is included in the Forbes Greece’s “30 under 30” list for 2022. He is a co-founder and co-CEO of Aisthesis Medical startup, which monitors biomarkers and clinical data in order to provide a personalized plan for delineating the proper surgical intervention.

Vasileios Koutsoumpas – 2022 Scholar
He is included in the Forbes Greece’s “30 under 30” list for 2022. He co-founded the non-governmental organization WeFor, a team that focuses on the significant challenges that Generation Z faces.

Sozita Goudouna – 2002 Scholar
She was honored with the Study UK Alumni Award in 2022 in the Culture and Creativity category by the British Council.

Manolis Efthimiou – 2021 Scholar
He is a member of the ΑΜΖ Driverless team of the ETH Zurich University, which ranked first in the internationally renowned “Formula Student Germany” competition in the Engineering Design category.

Araceli Lemos – 2010 Scholar
Araceli Lemos’ first feature film had its premiere at the 74th Locarno Film Festival, where it received a Special Mention of the Jury and was awarded in the Best First Feature category.

Sotiris Petridis – 2015 Scholar
The film “Re-Live,” co-authored with Tania Nanavraki, was awarded Best Science Fiction Film at the Comic-Con International Independent Film Festival 2022 of San Diego.

Alexander Mezari – 2016 Scholar
He was honored with the Humboldt-Prize 2022 for best PhD thesis of the year by the Humboldt University of Berlin.

Efthalia Aggelopoulou – 2015 Scholar
As a member of the research team led by Professor of Neurology Mr. Sokratis Papageorgiou, she was honored with the first prize in the Health and Social Affairs Sector of the Applied Idea category at the Digital Governance Awards 2022 Competition of the Hellenic Ministry of Digital Governance.
