“I always felt inclined to bring science and innovation closer to people and make medicine.”
—Alexandra Baranowski, 2023 Scholar
Alexandra Baranowski meets Panos Minogiannis. Alexanda is pursuing a Master’s degree in Nanotechnology at Harvard University as a 2023 Onassis Scholar. Panos is the General Manager of the Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center and was the President of the Onassis Scholar’s Association (2020-22, 2022-24), having received his scholarship in 1998. Both children of doctors, they discuss about the courage they mustered to not follow in their parents’ professional footsteps, the future of medicine, and the importance of safeguarding financial stability for our country’s hospitals.
“Granting healthcare professionals the opportunity to perform small, medium, and grand miracles every day is something indescribable. But in order to do so, they need to be surrounded by a financially sound environment. This is something we achieved, and I feel very proud of it.”
—Panos Minogiannis, 1998 Scholar
