Athina Spinasa meets Charis Gantes. The former is doing a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering (with 3D printing) as a 2022 Onassis Scholar at Imperial College; the latter is a Professor and Director of the Institute of Steel Structures in the School of Civil Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens, having received his fellowship in 1989. The two discuss the 3D bridges of the future, the difficulties they experienced in their studies, and the importance of being a civil engineer today.
