This year was accompanied by more challenges than any other year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The situation experienced by the school community was extremely difficult and there were several obstacles in the educational process that had to be overcome. However, pupils and teachers were not discouraged from continuing and trying to approach historical past by using new technologies and the internet. The competition was the occasion to unfold their creativity and to spend time in an interdisciplinary activity that combines different fields of knowledge and various skills. All school teams traveled digitally to the era of the Modern Greek Enlightenment, learned about Rigas' life, learned details about the construction of Charta, studied its symbols, followed the process of conducting historical research and came in contact with primary sources and archives. Through this experience, students had the opportunity to utilize innovative digital tools and acquire digital skills that will be more useful for them in the future, as students or professionals.

All digital projects submitted during the 2nd Phase of the Competition were remarkable, distinguished by quality, cognitive depth and pedagogical value, and showed the great effort, the perseverance and the interest of students and teachers to work methodically and collectively in order to deliver an even result. The work of the Evaluation Committee was extremely difficult having to judge high level proposals.

All those who have reached the end of this wonderful journey, the schools, the principals, the head teachers, the students but also the parents, they deserve a big applause.

We hope you keep up the good work, do what you love and make all your dreams come true!

The digital projects of all school groups will soon be uploaded on the open Classroom educational platform of the Onassis Foundation. We invite you to continue visiting this platform, which is constantly enriched with new educational material. Two new panhellenic student competitions will be announced very soon. The journey will be continued…
