One workshop featuring two activities: discover the treasures hidden inside the books at the Onassis Library and create your own engraving.

Rare books await you at the Onassis Library, ready for you to leaf through and admire the engravings that adorn their pages. But that’s not all.

In a single visit, the artists leading this engraving workshop will talk you through the history of engraving and show the entire process for the creation of a work, from first sketch to final print. After that, you’ll get the chance to use specialist tools to create your own initial capital letter and print it on Japanese paper, ready to take home.

Unleash the artist inside! Get to grips with craft knives, chisels, and burins to engrave your own unique work. Use specialist tools, sketch and carve, ink your design, and print it too as you learn how to engrave.

Application and selection process

Filling out the digital application form does not guarantee you a place on the program.
