The Onassis Foundation and uni.fund organize a series of webinars for the support of Technology Transfer at Greek Universities and Research Centers. The webinars are co-organized by the Institute for Intellectual Property Rights and Innovation (IPR-I) of the European Public Law Organization (EPLO), the Athens Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ACEin) of the Athens University of Economics and Business, and the Hellenic Industrial Property Academy (HIPA).
Tech Transfer in context: How can an IP portfolio contribute to development and resilience
The third Tech Transfer webinar is organized in collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), as part of WIPO’s Regional Webinars. The webinar, “Tech Transfer in context: How can an IP portfolio contribute to development and resilience,” explores the legal framework in Greece regarding Tech Transfer, and how can an IP portfolio help companies during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Tech Transfer’s third webinar is comprised of two digital sessions, on 21.04.21 and 22.04.21. Both sessions highlight the importance of developing IP assets for increasing developmental prospects, as well as allowing resilience for SMEs underlining IPs tactical and strategic dimensions.
On the first day, Wednesday, April 21st (17:00 – 18:30), the webinar “Spin-off companies’ formation: Legal framework and implementation” aims to introduce the existing framework for Spin-off’s formed at Greek Universities and Research Centers, and the changes that are to be brought by the forthcoming Ministry of Development and Investments’ law regarding Spin-off’s.
The event will be at large focused on a Q&A session with the guest speakers, Mr. Michalis Dritsas, Head of Cabinet of the Deputy Minister of Development and Investments, Mr. Dimas, and Mrs. Faye Orfanou, Member of the Sectorial Scientific Council of Tech Transfer & IP, National Council for Research, Technology & Innovation. On the second day, Thursday, April 22nd (10:00 – 12:35), the Regional Webinar of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), “SMEs, IP and resilience against the Covid-19 pandemic,” explores how SMEs with strong Intellectual Property Assets have coped and succeeded during the Covid pandemic.
The event is made possible under the auspices of the Scientific Board of the Domain of Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property at the National Council for Research, Technology & Innovation, and is co-organized by the Athens Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ACEin), Athens University of Economics and Business, the Institute for Intellectual Property Rights and Innovation (IPR-I), European Public Law Organization (EPLO), and the Hellenic Industrial Property Academy (HIPA).
