Introduction

The celebrated dancer and award-winning choreographer "dances the reality”, in a performance full of passion for life and justice.

Photo: Javier Del Real

A celebrated dancer and award-winning choreographer, Israel Galván creates a personal idiolect out of the Flamenco idiom and uses it as the expressive means to tackle a difficult subject: the persecution of the Roma in fascist Spain during the nineteen thirties and forties.

“He dances the reality”, achieving the near-impossible and conveying the pain and the suffering —but also the pride, free spirit and love of life— of an ethnic group that remains persecuted to this day.

"Lo Real" is a performance full of tragic memories that instill strength and a passion for life and justice.
