They say that Queen Amalia spent many hours walking in the center of Athens. For this reason, she decided to create her own small oasis, our very own National Garden.

Following in the footsteps of the young queen and her gardeners, the exploration begins on Wednesday afternoon, 23 June, 18:00-19:30, via Zoom, where we will learn the history of the National Garden and will play in groups an online treasure hunt with the help of the Google Earth online interactive map.

The adventure continues on Saturday morning, 26 June, 11:00-13:30, with physical presence, through playing in the garden, discovering its secret places, traveling around the world through the adventurous journeys of the trees on their way to Athens. At the same time, we discover fragments of the garden’s history, which takes us back to the past: the marbles of an ancient aqueduct, a noisy font, and a romantic pergola. We take a rest at a clearing, full of ancient columns. We stop at the children library and we see the big rock, where once was the seat of Amalia, the queen who wished to be remembered as the “queen of palm trees”.

Two days full of images and imaginative games is waiting for you.
