To what extent will machines start to seem human and how reliant will we become on machines?

In the exhibition students will explore the ways in which art deals with our hybrid world. We will view works of art envisioning unprecedented experiments, combining the latest developments in technology with traditional means. Artists from all over the world will talk about the particular way in which their works cut across the boundaries of various areas of thought, as well as between humans and machines. At the same time, we will ponder on the horizons opened by this interdisciplinary collaboration, but also about the dangers that it harbors. We will see works that question our relationship with social media, the limits of the human body, and the control exercised on us by information systems.
However, we will also view works whose potential for intervention or creativity is unleashed through hybrid techniques. Inspired from the exhibition, students will have the opportunity to create their own works through educational activities designed according to their age group.
Dates: Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 8 November 2016 to 12 January 2017
