What do you know about Pedion tou Areos? About its past and the myths that surround it? High school students together with their teachers explore the park and create their own manifesto on the question of how the park connects to the city.

The 5th Onassis Fast Forward Festival-Athens, which is to be held on May 2-16 in collaboration with the Attica Region, will include the eclectic "Park Fables" project based in the Pedion tou Areos. Russia’s Chto Delat and Ukraine’s Anton Kats have been invited to come to Athens to participate. The project will centre on contemporary myths born of the reality and historical past of the Pedion tou Areos, which will spark a series of actions within the park (theatre, choreography, visual installations, discussions, seminars etc.).

“The Park and the City”, an experiential workshop, invites high school students from the area around the Pedion tou Areos to explore the park with their teachers from various viewpoints and to answer the open-ended question: “How is the park connected to the city?”.

Guided and accompanied by their teachers, the students will be invited to adopt roles and organize a stroll/derive around the park, conducting field research and discovering alternatives ways in which park and city can coexist. The teenagers will be able to record the results of their research in the form of a ‘manifesto’, a presentation, a radio program, poems, performances, actions etc., which may be presented as part of the "Park Fables" project to be held in the context of the 5th Onassis Fast Forward Festival-Athens.
