Application and selection process

Applications should be sent to education@onassis.org by 15 October, 2019. Responses will be given by 1 November, 2019

What do 162 coins, a lion, and an ancient Greek theater have in common? They all appear on the same article in the Onassis Library.

Time stands still and you’re transported to the age of the Greek Enlightenment, when the Rigas Feraios Charta inspired the Revolution of 1821.

With the help of the technology of augmented reality, we will interact with this historic map, identifying the symbols depicted on it—including 162 ancient coins, a lion, Heracles and an Amazon, and an ancient Greek theater.

Using AR, you can make these symbols pop and come alive in the Onassis Library.

Thanks to the program 3D Studio Max, and working together with your fellow students, you’ll create three-dimensional animated graphics and create an app for a tablet or cell phone, using the Unity 3D function for real-time graphics.

The symbols of the Charta may be right at your side. Can you see them?
