In honor of both the Year of Cavafy and the acquisition of the Cavafy Archive, the Onassis Foundation is hosting a series of lectures on C. P. Cavafy, his work, and the ways in which his oeuvre connects with the modern day.

As part of the Year of Cavafy, the Onassis Foundation is inviting leading thinkers, academics, writers, and artists to give a series of lectures, and is also organizing a conference, as well as a special evening attended by the writer and scholar Daniel Mendelsohn, who has translated Cavafy into English. With this series of events, the Onassis Foundation hopes to highlight the ongoing relevance of Cavafy’s work.
