Introduction
In this workshop, the teachers will approach basic architectural concepts and will be called upon to become architects themselves through assignments and theory.
What is inscribed in the architecture of a city is its history, culture, the needs of its people, and their social perceptions.
In this workshop, we will discover its codes. We will walk the streets of the town, observe the buildings, record them with our cameras. Then we will talk about the methodology of architecture and the basic features of the buildings – size, proportions and materials. We will also find out what “usage scenarios” involve, i.e. all the parameters that an architect considers before designing a new building or space.
That way, teachers will become architects. They will receive instructions in the form of a usage scenario and they will be called upon to create a visual composition that corresponds to it.
During the workshop, the participants will acquire knowledge, tools and ideas that they can later exploit with their students during their tours around the city.
