Introduction

Lenio Kaklea in a piece inspired by the complex and precise choreographies of the pioneering Lucinda Childs.

Photo: Marc Dommage

Lenio Kaklea, an exceptional performer who often works with Boris Charmatz, has taken on the challenge of collaborating with one of the leading lights of American post-modern dance, Lucinda Childs.

"deux∙l" explores the female body as a locus of communication, thought and symbolisms, using props, videos and lighting to simultaneously create and dissolve links between image and meaning. The sound design by the celebrated Japanese composer, Ryoji Ikeda (who will present his performance "superposition" at the Onassis Stegi in April 2014), also makes a significant contribution to the work.
