Dimitrios Georgiou

Dimitris is part of Deloitte Greece's Strategy & Transactions Advisory, with focus on the Travel, Hospitality & Leisure sector. He holds a Master of Philosophy in Finance from the University of Cambridge and is an honors graduate of the Department of Accounting and Finance of the Athens University of Economics and Business.

He has previously worked at organizations such as SPDI (real estate fund), the European Central Bank (ECB), and the Greek National Tourism Organization. In recent years, Dimitris has contributed to more than 25 projects, ranging from research for organizations such as the UN World Tourism Organization to formulating sustainable tourism strategies. His major initiatives include the founding of Dishcover, a traveltech startup that connected food with history and was included, among others, in the Forbes 30 Under 30 (GR) list, as well as the launch of Mangata Seaside, a boutique hotel with a social entrepreneurship model in northern Evia.

Dimitris stands out for his interdisciplinary approach, combining finance, tourism, culture, and technology. His interests focus on leveraging cutting-edge technologies and innovative governance and financing models to enhance the unique characteristics of places and achieve sustainable development and resilience. His work has been recognized on a number of occasions, including being named a finalist in the UK Study Alumni Awards (2024) and selected as a participant at the World Bank Group Youth Summit (2023).

Finally, Dimitris is a member of the Panionios swimming team (masters) and volunteers as a mentor in schools (Tipping Point for Education, 100mentors) and innovation events (e.g., GreenTech Challenge).
