Aristea Kazantzi

Aristea Kazantzi has a degree in Environmental Studies from the University of the Aegean and has completed postgraduate studies as an Onassis Foundation scholar at University College London's Environmental and Resource Economics program. She is currently the Head of the Dean's Office at the University of Ioannina's School of Fine Arts, where, in addition to her primary responsibilities, she actively participates in graduate networking and support and coordinates the school's social activities.

Since 2018, she has been coordinating the voluntary recycling of electrical and electronic devices, as well as ink cartridges, at the University of Ioannina. More than 90 tons of e-waste have been removed in an environmentally responsible manner, and the spaces freed up within the University of Ioannina facilities are already being used by the university community. According to data provided by Appliances Recycling S.A., the e-waste collection company, the University of Ioannina is the only public institution that has been able to dispose of such large amounts of waste in such a short period of time in an environmentally responsible manner. At the same time, under the coordination of Associate Professor Konstantinos Gavrilakis, she has taken on the role of animator for the FONI student group (Student Youth Group of Ioannina) of the "Education for the Environment and Sustainability" laboratory at the Department of Primary Education. She volunteers at Ioannina's 5th Primary School (Valaneios School), where she plans experiential environmental activities for students and their families in collaboration with the school's teachers.

Aristea Kazantzi lives and works in Ioannina, and she has a nine-year-old daughter.
