Employees working in the private sector, company executives, nursing staff, members of organizations and associations devoted to social work, representatives of patient associations, volunteer blood donors, and more than 500 people in total attended the first Organmeetings webinar addressed to adult citizen groups, held on Wednesday March 22, 2023: a diverse audience with a common point of reference – the pursuit of knowledge about a public health issue as important as organ donation.
Organmeetings is an innovative program, created within the framework of the National Initiative undertaken and implemented by the Onassis Foundation, under the scientific auspices of the Hellenic National Transplant Organization (NTO) and the collaboration of the Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center (OSCS). The aim of the program is to offer comprehensive information on this topic, while decomposing myths and stereotypes that are still dominant in the public opinion.
The program consists of two pillars: Firstly, a comprehensive information and awareness guide on organ donation and transplantation has been developed, and remains fully accessible for browsing and downloading through the main page of the program (https://www.onassis.org/en/health/organmeetings). Secondly, at the same time, a new, ongoing communication channel with citizens is launched through webinars addressed to media, institutions, bodies, organizations – be they private or public, associations that engage in social projects, but also companies and enterprises that would like to link their CSR policy with awareness raising for organ donation.
Companies/Organizations/Media wishing to become involved in the awareness-raising program as associates, thus promoting organ donation to their clients/audience through joint actions, can become a “Gold Link” in the Organmeetings chain of life. For more information contact us at mediaoffice-health@onassis.org.
Both the Valuable and Gold Links in the chain of life of this campaign will be included in Press Releases and any other information material of the Hellenic Transplant Organization.

The Delphi Economic Forum, the Onassis Foundation, and the Hellenic Transplant Organization are joining forces in the framework of the awareness campaign on organ donation and transplantation addressed to citizens, by participating as a “Golden Link” in the “Organmeetings” awareness program. In this context, all visitors to Delphi Economic Forum VIII will have the opportunity to gain free of charge the comprehensive guide compiled to solve any question and debunk all stereotypes and myths regarding this significant public health issue, while at the same time, they will be able to attend a highly interesting discussion on Thursday, April 27 (at 10:30 am – Helene Ahrweiler Hall), with the main theme the newly passed bill on organ donation and transplantation and the future of this much significant field in Greece.
Delphi Economic Forum is a non-profit organization that aims to offer and promote innovative ideas on sustainable and competitive development for Europe and the broader Eastern Mediterranean region.
We All Become a Link in the Chain of Life
