AntetokounBros Academy aims higher than basketball; it aims at interaction, teamwork, and personal evolution.

The actions of the AntetokounBros Academy are not strictly limited within the court. Part of the CAF Foundation’s vision, its program is succeeded by a series of seminars and experiential workshops by the Onassis Foundation, theoretical breakdowns of the game by the Eurohoops coaching team, inspirational speeches by established professionals active in diverse fields, as well as great athletes.
The objective of the workshop is to introduce the participants to the “secrets” of public speaking. Through an array of interactive games and activities, the participants will learn the elements that set a good speaker apart, both at the level of speech and body posture, tone of voice, content, and interaction with the audience. The workshop will begin with icebreaker games and team formation. Then, an introduction to the “do’s and don’ts” of a successful presentation/speech will take place, while the workshop will conclude with “practice sessions” by the participants, to receive feedback and their rite of passage in public speaking. The workshop aims to assist the participants in strengthening their capacities in public speaking, critical thinking, and communication, as well as gaining added confidence while having fun, collaborating, and fostering closer relationships between them.

Basketball is a sport we are passionate about. But it’s not only that. Basketball shows us how to set goals, work hard, and achieve them! It teaches us that it is easier to succeed when we demand things of ourselves and collaborate with others. Each one can have their role and find their position within the team so we can all reach victory together. Through collaborations, prompt decisions, or individual initiatives, we shall overcome the obstacles ahead! By playing, we learn how to stand by our teammates and fill in their weaknesses with our strengths, just as they will run to our aid when we need it. In the heat of the game, we learn to claim our chances of winning. We face strong opponents with fervor and treat the weaker ones with respect. Basketball teaches us to take the situation into our hands and change its pace, summoning this way our luck. It allows us to dream, strive, and succeed. The only thing needed is to invest 100% of ourselves.

In this workshop, we will take the children on a brief tour of the fascinating world of negotiation. When and why do we negotiate? What are we trying to accomplish through a negotiation? Can negotiation skills be nurtured or is it an innate talent? And, finally, to what degree negotiation concerns each of us in our daily lives? We will try to address all these questions in action, by taking part in a role-playing game about – what else? – our very favorite Basketball!
