The daring young director, whose work has sparked a storm of controversy in France, comes to the Onassis Stegi to take part in an open-ended discussion.

Romain Gavras’ work captures in an exceptionally realistic way the mayhem and violence that prevail in today’s urban centres, along with the power relationships between the citizen and authority. He has put Paris gangs, police violence and angry demonstrators into his video clips for Jay-Z, Kanye West and M.I.A., and depicted contemporary racism in his first feature-length film, "Notre jour viendra" ("Our day will come").
