The story of Antigone from the unusual perspective of Brecht, who uses this internationally renowned heroine as a timeless symbol of resistance and freedom
This performance presents the story of Antigone from the unusual perspective of Brecht, who uses this internationally renowned heroine as a timeless symbol of resistance and freedom, with a view to highlighting the absurdity of war and of totalitarian state power, which demands the blood of citizens to play unwanted political games.
The piece takes the path of an exploratory correlation with the modern day, where many corners of the Earth are facing outbreaks of civil war and reactions against totalitarian “leaders”, the ultimate goal being to assert the inalienable freedoms of expression, action, and self-determination – the freedom to create your own self and your society.
