How can the key of G Major “unlock” the emotions and skills of children on the wider autism spectrum? A music workshop for children and their parents, which frees communication, using notes and rhythms.
For the seventh year in a row, Onassis Foundation’s educational program “Music Loves Autism” brings mixed groups – children with or without autism spectrum disorders and their parents – in touch with music. In this case, the communication language consists of music notes, sounds, and rhythm, whereas piano, pipes, or the sax become the communication media.
Listen, see, and enter this specially designed music game with all your senses. Musicians and educators are by your side, to adapt all music activities to your own desires and capacities. In this workshop, sounds and musical instruments help each kid to release their feelings and develop their social skills. The aim is for kids that belong to the wider autism spectrum to finally express their creativity and integrate into the team, through the experience of togetherness.
The art of music transcends verbal communication, travels for the fifth year in new destinations in the Greek periphery, and enhances everyone’s access to education and play.
