Application, selection process and cost

The selection of participants will be made through the open call for International Cavafy Summer School 2023. Participation is free.

Addressed to

Doctoral students, postdoctoral researchers and early-career scholars.

How is Cavafy read today? For the fifth consecutive year, academics and researchers from around the world meet to examine the poet’s work, this time through the methodological and theoretical approaches of different science and art disciplines.

The International Cavafy Summer School 2023 will focus on the literary work and the digital archive of C. P. Cavafy, examined through the prism of different artistic and research fields such as film studies, creative writing, history of education, linguistics, history, genealogy, numismatics, music studies and visual culture. The aim of the International Summer School 2023 is to enrich the debate on Cavafy with new methodological tools and interdisciplinary approaches, and to highlight his work's ever-evolving cultural relevance for interdisciplinary exchange and collaboration across the arts and humanities.

Through the open call, the International Summer School aims to attract advanced postgraduate and doctoral students as well as early career researchers from different countries and from a variety of disciplines in the humanities, social sciences and arts.
