Introduction

Combining contemporary and other forms of dance with elements of physical expression associated with social groups, “Era poVera” seeks new ways of surviving in the city.

The talented choreographer, Patricia Apergi, and her dynamic Aerites dance company present a work inspired by the contemporary cityscape. Combining contemporary and other forms of dance as well as different elements of physical expression associated with various social groups, “Era poVera” seeks new ways of surviving in the city. Can a gang dance against the status quo? Can we live free in a city which prevents us from moving freely? Are illusions danceable? For the Aerites, street art is no longer an alternative artistic viewpoint—it’s a political intervention, a social statement, a roadmap to living together differently.
