Introduction
David Sedaris will talk with Yorgos Archimandritis about contemporary society and its irrationality, the American way of looking at things and cosmopolitanism, the anti-heroes of everyday life and the sweet and sour taste of being.
With sardonic wit and incisive social critiques, David Sedaris has become one of America’s pre-eminent humor writers. The great skill with which he slices through cultural euphemisms and political correctness proves that Sedaris is a master of satire and one of the most observant writers addressing the human condition today.
David Sedaris will talk with Yorgos Archimandritis about contemporary society and its irrationality, the American way of looking at things and cosmopolitanism, the anti-heroes of everyday life and the sweet and sour taste of being.
Born in 1957 in New York to a second-generation Greek father (son of immigrants) and an American mother, Sedaris worked as a house painter, domestic worker, psychiatric nurse and creative writing professor at the Art Institute of Chicago before becoming a writer and radio contributor. He currently lives and works in Paris. The author of “Barrel Fever”, “Santaland Diaries”, “Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk”, “Naked”, “Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim”, “When You Are Engulfed in Flames” and “Me Talk Pretty One Day”, doesn't hesitate to deploy caustic humor to narrate the stories that, as he claims, he has lived and are not mere fabrications of his imagination.
David Sedaris's books are available in Greek by Melani Publications.
