ARK Athens

Ria sings “And if the great flood comes again, you’ll be the ark for me” [taken from a late-’90s Greek pop song by Katy Garbi] and blows kisses to her viewers.

This female television presenter is here for everyone who’s stayed up late specially to see her. They know that Ria is hot and generous and – above all – cares. A girl-next-door who struggled hard to make it, she stands by the side of all those striving too. S M I T A L I P A C is tonight’s conundrum. As always, she helps the audience by revealing the answer’s first letter, and the calls come flooding in. “Words ending in –ism are always tough…” she notes, before requesting more help for her viewers. But the faceless production control room refuses to give out cold hard cash in these terribly difficult times. Who will win the day after – Ria’s conscience, or capitalism?

The show takes a strange turn when our sweet host decides to rebel – not just for her own benefit, but for all her callers across the globe too, stoically up so late! Women workers of the world, unite!
