Kivotos Channel: Mamades

ARK Athens

A bizarre late-night television outing for parents and caregivers, moms [the “mamades” of the title] and femininities, and all those who self-identify in this way.

The program adopts the format of a morning self-help talk show, answering letters sent in by viewers. Moms in this world of the day after offer up empowering advice on the impasses posed by parenthood, social stereotypes, and the emotional or physical misadventures we face as caregivers.

Femininities – endlessly charged with the duty of providing care and maintaining the “order” of things – rise up in rebellion, proposing extended family structures, LGBTQIA+ kinships, and rowdy appearances wearing baby carriers wherever they aren’t welcome.
