A Poet’s Loves

The third installation of “Transformations” draws its material from the translation of the song cycle “Dichterlieber” (“A Poet’s Love”) on poetry by Heinrich Heine. Translated by Dionyssis Kapsalis, the poems become a source of inspiration for the following composers: Dimitris Papadimitriou, Nikos Xydakis, Tassos Rossopoulos, and Kostas Makras.

Four cycles of new songs will be presented. Seen from each composer’s perspective, aesthetic, and musical language, Heine’s poems – verses and words – are given new ‘shades’ of meaning.
