Vanessa Tzoannou

Vanessa Tzoannou is a member (of counsel) of the English law firm Hill Dickinson since August 2021, maintaining her office in Piraeus. She is a lawyer of Greece (2007), United Kingdom (2015), and the first Greek woman lawyer of the Marshall Islands (2018). She has graduated with honors from the Law School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and holds a postgraduate degree, with a scholarship from the Onassis Foundation, in Law (MJur) from the Exeter College of the University of Oxford (2008). She is an advisor on maritime and corporate law. She often participates in shipping conferences and presentations, while her articles have been published in domestic and international shipping journals. She has extensive work experience as a legal advisor in foreign and domestic shipping companies and international English law firms, having worked in China, England, Belgium, and Greece. She is actively involved in the field of winery, having completed levels 1, 2, and 3 of the Wine and Spirit Education Trust and postgraduate training in Oenology and Viticulture at the Agricultural University of Athens through the Hellenic Open University. She is an active member of the Women's International Shipping & Trading Association, which aims to promote the presence of women in the shipping industry. She speaks English (fluent), French (very good), Spanish (very good), Chinese (basic level), Dutch (basic level), and Russian (basic level).
