Samuel Schmidiger (b. 1981, Bern, Switzerland) is active as musician, performer, and composer in various rock ’n’ roll bands, as well as for contemporary theater. Born and raised in Bern, he currently lives and works in Geneva.

With a classical musical education on cello, he is a self-taught guitar and bass player and has been playing with numerous bands. Within the past years, Samuel is mainly active as bass player with The Jackets, a garage-punk band based in Bern, which has been touring internationally for 10 years ().

As a composer and sound performer, he works at theater, and occasionally in films. He founded the theater company, Companie Bleu en Haut Bleu en Bas, in 2015, with Greek stage director and performer Anna Lemonaki. Samuel’s main driving interest is to explore and develop the energy and primitive forces of blues and rock 'n' roll music and translate them into a live performance, in order to make it a common, intense experience between the performer and the audience. He likes to explore playful forms of interdisciplinary collaborations in artistic practice and DIY.
