Roydon Turner
South African by birth, Roydon lives and works in the UK, which he now calls his home. He studied at the School of Art and Design, South Africa, and worked for global advertising agencies for over 20 years as Creative Director. Today he directs commercials, documentaries as well as short and full feature films. However, his "passion project" is the Orgamites (organ donation for kids) and he is pursuing it through the company he founded, a not-for-profit Community interest Company called All Good Co. (CIC). It is in this framework that those great characters were created, which help promote a healthy lifestyle and organ donation.
Roydon’s brother passed away when he was only 12 years old, after having contracted Encephalitis. He has since felt that his family would have healed stronger and quicker if Bradley’s sad passing had perhaps had some positive outcome - if, for instance, via organ donation, his death had saved someone else’s life. No physician approached them at the time or thought to ask them about donating Bradley’s organs. This was something that had always been bothering him. This is how he decided to create Orgamites.
With more than 7,000 patients in the UK enrolled at the National Transplant Register waiting for a second chance to life, and more than 470 who have passed away in 2020, since they couldn’t have access to a suitable transplant, raising awareness regarding Organ Donation is an ongoing need, not only for the UK but also for most European countries, amongst them. unfortunately, Greece.
