Maria Doka
Maria Doka is attorney-at-law and member of the Legal Department of Bank of Greece. She is an honors graduate of the Law School of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens (EKPA) and holds a postgraduate degree (LL.M.) from the Law School of the University of Bonn (summa cum laude) and a doctorate in law with honors from the Democritus University of Thrace; the subject of her doctoral thesis was "The exemption from liability of management members of capital companies" (Law and Economy Publications, P.N. Sakkoulas, 2012). She also holds master’s degrees in business administration (MBA) and negotiations (Certificate in Negotiations, CIN) from the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). She has received scholarships from the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY) and the Bequests Scholarships managed by the University of Athens, the Onassis Foundation (postgraduate studies, 2002–2004, doctoral dissertation, 2004–2008, member support program/funding of doctoral dissertation publication, 2011), as well as the AUEB (Certificate in Negotiations, 2014–2015).
Professionally, she specializes in commercial, corporate, civil, and administrative law. She gained expertise in public procurement law while working as a member of MOU (Management Organization Unit of Development Programs, Ministry of Finance, Development, and Tourism) from 2008 to 2012.
She teaches civil law, public contracts, and negotiations at the Hellenic Police Academy, the Hellenic Air Force Academy, and the National School of Public Administration and Local Government (ESDDA). During her tenure as General Secretary and Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Onassis Foundation Scholars Association, she co-organized negotiation seminars for Association members with AUEB professors. She has also served as a lecturer for Onassis Foundation training programs (AntetokounBros Academy - Negotiation Workshop).
Her studies and articles have been published in legal journals on commercial, civil, labor, and social security law. She speaks English, German, French, and Spanish. She has four children: George, Theodore, Stathis, and Clelia.
