Georgios Mizithras

Georgios Mizithras is a musician, sound designer, and creative coder whose work as a composer and performer spans acousmatic music, improvisation, live electronics, music for theater, and audiovisual installations. He led the educational workshop “Latent Space 2024–2025” at the Greek National Opera and has composed music and curated the sound design for numerous theater productions, including “Amalia Melancholia,” “Requiem for Fanny Goldman,” “MERDE!,” and “Skirt Day” (“La Journée de la jupe”). He was the composer and sound dramaturg for “Mystery 72 Persephone Walks” (2023 Eleusis European Capital of Culture), and developed custom software and oversaw the electroacoustic realization for John Cage’s “Europeras 1 & 2” (Greek National Opera, 2020). He is a member of the experimental music ensemble Trigger Happy, which has performed in Greece and abroad, and has presented his works at international festivals and venues in Vienna, Prague, Berlin, Athens, and elsewhere. He studied at De Montfort University and is a graduate of the Ionian University and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Since 2021, he has been a PhD candidate at the Ionian University, researching music with modified media in the post-digital era.
