Evi Kalogiropoulou

Evi Kalogiropoulou is a visual artist and filmmaker working in Athens. Evi has studied at the Athens University of Economics and Business, at the Athens School Fine Arts, while she holds a Master’s degree in Moving Image from the Royal College of Art. Evi’s video art had various screenings in spaces such as the BFI, the Chisenhale Gallery, and the Whitechapel Gallery in London. She has been artist-in-residence in Somerset House Studios. She participated in the exhibition “The Same River Twice” organized by The DESTE Foundation for Contemporary Art. Evi had her solo show with sculptures and video work in Kunstverein Dresden (2020).
Her short film “Motorway 65” (2020) was selected for the official competition of the Cannes Film Festival. Her next short film, “On Xerxes’ Throne” (2022), produced by Onassis Culture, won the CANAL+ Award at the 61st edition of La Semaine de La Critique, Cannes Film Festival.She is currently working on her debut feature “Cora,” which received the Eurimages development prize in CineMart 2021 (Rotterdam Film Festival) and the ARTE/YouTube prize at the Atelier Cinéfondation of the Cannes Film Festival in 2021. The project is an international co-production between Greece, France, and the Netherlands and is supported by Onassis Culture.
