Eleni Spyrakou

Eleni Spyrakou is a post-doctoral researcher at the Research Lab of Advanced, Composite, Nano Materials & Nanotechnology (R-NanoLab) of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens.

Her research focuses on research ethics and integrity. She holds a PhD in Political Philosophy from the University of Ioannina, which was funded by the University’s Research Committee. As a Scholar of the Onassis Foundation she received an MPhil in Philosophy from King’s College London. From 2009 to 2013 she worked at the Ministry of Culture in the field of documentation and protection of cultural property and, in particular, in strategic planning with regard to the illegal trade of antiquities. From 2014 to 2017 she worked as Operations Manager for a company providing technological equipment to pharmaceutical companies. She has presented her research in conferences in Greece and abroad. As a writer and a translator, she has participated in edited volumes focusing on philosophy and issues of research integrity. She has published three book reviews. She was a volunteer at the ATHENS 2004 Olympics.

Since 2009, she has been a member of the Onassis Scholars’ Association. Interests: political philosophy, ethics, bioethics, research integrity, dance, running, travelling.
