Dimitrios Zaires
Captain Dimitrios Zaires is a graduate of the Hellenic Army Academy and as of now serves as procurement program manager and National Representative of Greece for NATO procurement through the support partnerships of the NATO Support & Procurement Agency (NSPA), with over ten years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, project management, and civil-military cooperation.
He was named a finalist for the British Council Greece 2023 Business & Innovation Award for his contributions to the global project management and commercial supply chain communities, as he was one of the first in the field to enhance the knowledge and understanding of how to leverage the startups’ innovation in the corporate logistics organizations (intrapreneurship concept) for designing resilient supply chains.
In 2020, he received the PMI Young Professional Award as "Best of the Best" in Project Management Worldwide from the Project Management Institute of the United States, in recognition of several international and local projects.
He completed an Executive MSc in Logistics & Supply Chain Management from Cranfield University (Distinction) on a scholarship from the Onassis Foundation, and his thesis on the application of analytical techniques and machine learning in the production of a military factory was awarded the EFESO Consulting Prize (2020). In 2017, he received an MBA (1st) from Frederick University, Cyprus.
He holds the professional titles Chartered in Logistics & Transport (CMILT), Chartered Procurement Professional (MCIPS), European Senior Logistician (cESLog), and Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP). He participates in international conferences as a researcher and speaker, and he is a regular guest speaker in business schools and in the startup ecosystem.
