Ariane Koek

Ariane Koek is an independent and international vision maker, producer, writer, and curator who designs and delivers new cultural programs working across different knowledge systems, including arts science technology and ecology. She is well-known for initiating in 2009 the Arts at CERN program, designing, delivering, and directing it for the first five years at the world’s largest physics laboratory in Geneva, Switzerland.

She has a special interest in the entangling of the human, ecology, and technology. She co-curated “Real Feelings: Emotion and Technology” which was shown at HeK (House of Electronic Arts, Basel) and MU Hybrid House (Eindhoven), and “Related Realities,” the Nordic Photography Triennale in Tampere, Finland.

She was on the jury this year both for the BAD (Bio Arts and Design) awards in the Netherlands and the Panasonic special prize in the FAB awards, Japan. In 2021 she was invited to be a Creative Director of the official virtual Italian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale of Architecture where she showcased “Witness,” an installation by artist Emma Crtichley which links the breath and the body of the human with that of the Earth’s atmosphere and the planet itself.
