Anthony S. Papadimitriou, a lawyer and economist, studied at the Law School of the University of Athens and earned his master’s degree in Transport Law at the University of Aix-en-Provence in France. He completed his Ph.D. at the Department of Political Science and Public Policy of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He is also a graduate of the Department of Economic Studies at the London School of Economics. In 1989, he was appointed a lawyer to the Supreme Court of Athens. Between 1992 and 2010 he was the Managing Partner of the law firm A.S. Papadimitriou and Partners. In 1988 he was elected member of the Board of Directors of the Onassis Foundation, upon the recommendation of then President Christina Onassis. In 2008 he was made Honorary Master of the Bench of the Middle Temple in London. Since 2005 he serves as President and Treasurer of the Onassis Foundation.
