Andu Masebo
Andu Masebo is a product designer from London with a background in carpentry, metalwork and ceramics. Having previously worked in the fabrication industries before completing a masters in product design at the Royal College of Art, he often shifts between the role of the designer and the maker as a way of generating ideas that connect the two. His experience rooted in the practicalities of making things has informed a practice engaged with the way objects come to be, the conditions under which things are produced and the wider systems that dictate their context beyond their production. His emphasis on storytelling aims to shorten the cognitive dissidence between the process of making things and the way they can be understood by their eventual audience. Andu’s work is characterized by simplicity, efficiency and focus; nothing is unnecessary, no materials are surplus, no features are excessive – his designs tell clear accessible stories about what they are and how they were made.
