Exchange Residencies Program
The Onassis AiR exchange residencies program is intended for artists and curators based in Greece who would benefit from taking part in a partner residency program abroad.
The 2019/20 participants are: Margarita Athanasiou, Alkisti Efthimiou, Marina Gioti, Manolis Manousakis, Dimitris Rentoumis, Kelly Tsipni-Kolaza
The 2019/20 partner institutions are: Beirut Art Residency (Lebanon) and CAPACETE (Brazil)
In its first year, Οnassis AiR partners up with two very different institutions, in two different continents. CAPACETE is an independent residency program founded in Rio de Janeiro in 1998 by artist Helmut Batista. Beirut Art Residency (BAR) was launched in September 2015, as a non-profit residency program for international artists looking to research and produce work in a new environment in Beirut, away from their usual surroundings.
Each participant is selected based on a specific artistic research proposal that is imperative to happen in the country of our partner institutions. The selection is made by the teams of the respective exchange residency each participant is applying for.
