Onassis Digital & Innovation
The Onassis Foundation’s Digital and Innovation initiatives aim to foster an extrovert program in the field of digital arts, especially those relating to the creation of immersive storytelling and employing Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The Onassis Digital & Innovation (ODiN) programs propose a new paradigm for the production and distribution, as well as the enjoyment of cultural creation. When the digital realm ceases to be visible precisely because it is everywhere, our aim is to enhance it with innovative and transversal forms of storytelling. Sidestepping novelty in the medium, we want to highlight the productive dimension of artistic creation and ensure the economic viability and social impact of our productions.
Through the Onassis ONX program (Onassis Extending Realities) which includes an artistic incubator in Athens and an artistic accelerator in New York at the Olympic Tower in Manhattan, Onassis Stegi seeks the development of original artistic and creative content in digital arts and at the same time the empowerment of artists, so they are in a position to produce artistic, societal, and economic value, safeguard their works’ sustainability, ensure their autonomy, and amplify the impact their work might have. Since its launch in 2020, members of Onassis ONX have presented their work in numerous festivals worldwide, such as the Tribeca Film Festival, Sundance, SXSW, Ars Electronica, IDFA, and most recently in the 80th Venice International Film Festival.Photo: Kiki Papadopoulou

In creating ephemeral places, we celebrate all that is fleeting; the singularity of memories, and the energy of an unrepeatable moment. In networks, we treasure communal thought and reaction, focusing on the ‘now,’ as the ‘here’ is blurred.
The main tools at ODiN’s disposal are our international incubation and acceleration platform Onassis ONX and the meta-digital art exhibition “Plásmata”. Through "Plásmata", a series of public space events, Onassis Stegi creates a world-class art program on the digital, emphasizing the multitude of identities, the connection of the local with the global, and the investigation of the climate crisis and its consequences.
“Plásmata” is not simply a digital art exhibition. At its core it redefines public space as a common good, through the exploration of the unexpected connections of advanced technologies with contemporary culture. “Plásmata” is an ongoing laboratory for the production of ideas and projects and, simultaneously, an opportunity for the public to engage, question, and challenge the relationship between art and technology. In June 2025, “Plásmata” returns to Athens.
